Welcome to Lynne's Organic Farm

Lynne’s Organic Farm is a newly converted organic smallholding of just over 35 acres in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The farm comprises 16 acres dedicated to organic fruit, vegetable, herb and flowers, while the remaining area of woodland is split into three areas; ancient woodland, wet woodland and lowland heath.

The farm was put into conversion soon after we arrived in June 2005 and is now fully organic, certified by the Soil Association. The organic symbol can only be used by those licensed by the Soil Association Certification Ltd. in connection with organic foods that have been inspected and certified to comply with all requirements of the EU Organic Regulation 2092/91 and the Defra Compendium.

The main business of the farm is an organic vegetable box scheme.  This year we also hope to be able to provide organic fruit; a 2 acre orchard was planted in January 2007 with another 2 acres dedicated to soft fruit including blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, currants (red and black) and gooseberries. We had a very good harvest of soft fruit last year and hope to have a small harvest of top fruit too this year.

We grow a full range of vegetables and herbs.  We aim to produce everything ourselves which means certain vegetables are only available when they’re in season so please don’t expect to see tomatoes in your box in February!  However, with the use of protected cropping we can extend the season for some vegetables or make them available earlier than you may have anticipated.  We aim to provide the vegetables to you as fresh as possible and the majority will only be picked on the same day that they’re delivered.

The box scheme is available 12 months of the year.  We offer two sizes of box, a Standard Box containing 7 or 8 varieties of vegetable each week and a Family Box which will be a larger version of our standard box plus a couple of extra varieties of veg.  The boxes will either be delivered to your door or available at certain pick up points (which will help reduce food miles).

We are committed to an organic, sustainable lifestyle not just for our business but also how we live. The farm is powered by an off grid renewable power system (wind turbine and solar panels), heat and hot water is provided by a biomass system and all irrigation is supplied by rainwater harvesting and an on site spring.   We are also undertaking a number of conservation works in the woodland; the general thrust of the woodland work is to bring back as much wildlife as possible.
